Kick start the week long adventure at the Lord of the Isles pub with all day & evening entertainment from 11:30. Enjoy an all day barbecue, oyster, champagne & seafood bar, fireworks, surprises and live music from local band ‘Framed’ to take you into the evening. Early birds can enjoy bacon butties or a full Scottish breakfast from 08.30 (with a complimentary glass of bucks fizz on Sunday only). Booking is advised for special West Highland Yachting Week evening dinners in the restaurant and Sunday sit down breakfast.

Oban Sailing Club - Early Barbecue Party

Start the evening early and grab a tasty burger at the barbecue and drinks from the bar whilst overlooking the stunning view across the bay to the Isle of Kerrera.

Oban & Lorne Rugby Club - Inter Yacht Tag Rugby

Bring your team along to this fun rugby tournament. Satisfy your hard working appetite with a tasty barbecue and enjoy drinks at the bar. To enter your team please complete the registration form included in the sailing instructions and return to the race office. Forms can also be collected from the race office.

Oban High School Pipe Band Tour Oban!

Look out for the pipe band playing on the open top West Coast Motors double decker bus in various locations in the town of Oban!

Skipper’s Reception (invitation only) - CalMac Ferry Terminal
Arrive 19.30 for 20.00 start (finishes 22.00)
This year our Skipper’s reception will take place in the attractive and spacious departure lounge in Oban’s CalMac Ferry Terminal. Be greeted by Oban High School Pipe Band on arrival, enjoy complimentary drinks and delicious canapes and join in the farewell toast to Tennents.

Skipinnish Ceilidh House - Live Music from “Skerryvore”

Enjoy dancing and listening to this talented and well known band, from the beautiful tiny island of Tiree on the west coast of Scotland, who will perform their blend of traditional Scottish music with kicking rhythms of guitar, bass and drums. Not one to miss!

Atlantis Leisure Centre - Inter-yacht five-a-side football & family swim night
6pm to 8pm – Family Swim; 7pm to 9pm – Inter Yacht Football Tournament
Competitors go free! To register your team for the five-a-side football tournament please complete the registration form, available from the race office and in the sailing instructions.

Wide Mouthed Frog, Dunstaffnage Marina - Family Fun & Live Music

Enjoy a whole range of children’s activities and family fun from midday. Feast on the roast wild boar & delicious buffet. Enjoy live music from 21.00 and stunning views overlooking Dunstaffnage Marina.

Come along in fancy dress beach wear for the party of the week! Dance your Hawaiian shirt off to pop music and enjoy tropical cocktails at the bar!

Celebrate the final night of West Highland Yachting Week and dance the night away to live music from ceilidh rock band “Craigendarloch”.

Competitors receive free cinema entry to showings at the Highland Theatre in Oban on Sunday 2nd, Monday 3rd & Tuesday 4th August. Collect your vouchers from the race office at Craobh and Oban.

This year, West Coast Motors are putting on a service especially for West Highland Yachting Week Competitors between Dunstaffnage Marina and Oban. Timetables are available from the race office and within the Sailing Instructions. (Bus Fares: Adult Single = £1.50, Adult Return = £2.50, Child Single = £1.00, Child Return = £1.50, Scottish Concession card holders (age 60+) travel free).
